Trailer to borrow/hire/rent/buy

  1. It appears I'm going to need a trailer for 10 days in April.
Anyone got one? Know of one? Rented one themselves or indeed know of a reasonably priced one to buy?
Needs to be big enough to get this on it and to travel to Italy and back!

if you need any panels, drop me a pm :) there is a long side on the samba for $995 oooo
    cooooolio though

  4. It looks like it!
It's described by my friend as "very rough but complete" but soooooooo cheap I couldn't say no. (I couldn't say much to be fair, I had 10 pints of Bombardier)
    Italy here we come!

It needs to be, going to cost you arm + leg to get it back here. Great trip though, have fun. Maybe by a trailer on EbayItalia if there is such a thing.

it wont look so cheap when you find out the price and availability of panels, i have spent a few grand

be cool when its done though, you gonn get on it as soon as you bring it back?

  9. The cost of getting it back is whatever I can borrow a trailer for.
I'm already driving a truck down there, someone else is paying for that, diesel, ferries, tolls, the lot.
I'm figuring on getting the underside done, leaving the body as much as possible and putting Paul Weeding's motor in it along with six rib box I got last week. :)

  10. Love it!
    What's Paul building for you?

  11. I have a 2l CU motor, complete and running in the back of the car, gonna strip off the std stuff and send it to Paul, he's gonna do his magic and then it's ready for the Doka.

  12. Something interesting ;)

  13. Nice crewy....

Might be worth taking a punt on e bay ,buying one and selling it when you get back...

    A good road trip whatever...

  14. I'm thinking along those lines too. Seen a few nice ones for under a grand and expect I could sell it on at little or no loss upon my return.
It's looking like the cost of buying it and getting it back is going to be around £500 in total, reckoning I can't go wrong at that! Motor and gearbox are present (if not running) as are most other bits.
As many of you will agree the adventure of doing something like this is half the fun and it'll make a great story for the Grand kids if I ever have any (That I'm allowed to meet).
