Been looking online at various places and they list the left engine bolt and the starter half moon bolt but in the description it says not for auto. I need both and can't seem to find them listed anywhere? What's the difference for autos? It's a 2ltr engine with auto gearbox, thanks.
Its longer M10 x 170 We can get it in from VW Classic Parts for you: http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_act_vwclassicParts.search.htm?classicSearchText=n0104951
Thanks Alex, is that the same for both the starter half moon and the left hand bolt? Oh an the links not working, just takes you to the home page.
Rubbish sorry for the duff link Its part no. n01 049 51 NO The other side is m10 x 40, N01 044 03, which we have in stock: http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_spares_Bolt-M10x40-N0104403_act_shop.product_pID_154405.htm If you let me have your email address I can email you the page from ETKA I am getting the info from.
Are you sure about that @Alex VW Heritage ? Been a while since I worked on an auto bay, but M10 x 40 doesn't seem right to me!! Or is it a bolt from the engine side into the box??
Cor, I wish mine looked like that!! I rang Alex today Paul and he reckoned the parts are on a two to three week delivery as they're heritage classic parts. Speaking to other half tonight, might have to purchase a new starter and bolts as not sure how capable I am at stripping down the starter to replace a casing.
I've not checked to see if I've got that long half moon bolt... might pop out in a sec... The M10 x 40, I can grab one of those in the morning, as it's a generic bolt How desperate are you for the starter? You could send me yours and I'll swap it over and give it a clean/mini service and post it back!!
Well it's not going anywhere soon as I've got the fuel tank pipe to sort out too. Have a look for the bolts and let me know fella?
Ok, I've had a look, and you have a couple of options... 1 is as I've already said 2, I refurb the starter I have here, obviously costs a little more, and I bung the bolts in the box to go with it!!
No not 100% Paul, Have never worked on one myself so just going on ETKA which is VW's own parts system and that is the info it is giving me. Will email you the file to look at. Cheers Alex EDIT* Sent to LVHEngines@gmail.com
