Mine are white if that helps. R u s toe leum smooth. The black towbar blends in nicely. The bumperz are classic pastelweiss rattle can.
Gonna go out on a limb here and say they threw whatever was at hand on them. I have a feeling there was white under the underseal on mine when I stripped them back.
Perfect. I'll do one white and one black. And then I'll build a firewall so they can't swap sides, and I'll get one of them to pay for it.
I suspect given that VW's underbody treatment was basically body paint, the brackets may well have once shared their colour with the bodywork. Or in my case Pastel White, but the finish on my brackets does not seem to have any traces of white paint under the black. But maybe somebody did them with stone chip after cleaning them ..
Mine are black, always have been, always will be. Unless of course when I'm gone and my kids sell the van for the cash the next owner changes them ...........
Thanks guys for all you replies. I'm going to side with @Flakey and his collection of white brackets - there seem to be more white than black around, and I just can't imagine so many people looking at rusty black ones thinking 'I know, I'll paint them white'. Sorry @snotty. So, out with the pastel weiss....
Oh for goodness sake. I'm filled with uncertainty again. Black? White? Black? Then again... T H E Y A R E W H I T E A N D T H E Y A R E S T A Y I N G W H I T E!!
