http://www.granthamrunningclub.co.uk/Solstice.php A little race the good lady is helping to organize and I might be helping to marshal.
Great Yorkshire Run in Sheffield today: a 10k road race which is mostly flat for 9k, followed by a couple of nasty steep uphills near the finish. First race I've bothered to do in more than a year and finished in... 57' 53" It's a personal worst but I'm still fairly happy with it as it was unpleasantly hot out there I'm getting progressively older and slowerI really should have trained moreit's still less than an hour My mate - who used to be a fat little fellow but has taken to doing lots of cycling this year - did it nine minutes faster than me and still looked fresh as a daisy when he finished. The git.
Nice work. I have a 10k in a month's time but only done three weeks training so far so would be happy with sub 60.
Nice that someone has given this thread a bump I'm still plodding around the streets - 4 miles tonight is planned.
My mad Mrs goes 3- 4 times a week club running or alone she loves it and is entered in the Peterborough half marathon in six weeks time.
Tonight was the in house 10k race to workout the handicaps and The Running Rev (my good lady) got a PB of 59.14 nearly a minute of her previous.
