Three cables one lever....

Well ok two levers.. but the cold one already had something to do..
Trying to get heat sorted for winter only got one hot lever and three cables .. guess the short one connects onto the totem and connect to some other control lever? Am I missing a lever or do the loop together?

Type 4 engine but she was a 1600 in the past..

Yep - on mine there are 2 red ones in the one slot.

 

That’s an early dash isn’t it? I thought they had four levers, or was it fork handles?

 

You might possibly be missing another red lever (have a look at the sliders behind the dash). One (or two) long cables run to the exchangers on the engine to set the heat. The other red controls the cable to the totem pole, with a further cable controlling the diverter flap under the cab floor. The diverter directs air to the back of the bus through the slot at the rear of the walkway.

Cheers all.. she's a crossdressers but also some cosmetic surgery so could be a mix of all.
Only one lever for red but totem not connected to any levers the cable to middle of van deflector is there.. but missing the connectng pipe underneath anyway..
Which ones have one red lever ?

That looks closest....apart from exchangers are a 1600.. but the design is about right ta

All of them have two red levers, later vans have one blue, earlies have two

 

You need red levers, one for heat, one for direction.

 

Sounds more complicated than our current cable tie everything open technique..
