Looks to me that little @Frannie will kick your ass if you sell the bus The first picture says it all really Smiles, family ect Keep it enjoy
I feel you have had fun with your van but maybe its time to sell it on and get something modern and more reliable. Nothing wrong with that, a lot of our vans have had a lot of owners in their time as folks buy one, use it for a couple of years and sell it on. From what I gather some folks on here own T5's and seem very pleased with them. If I were you, I would sell your van as it is in the Spring and use a car for your holiday touring along with staying at B&B's or such like. You could take your time and look around for a T5 during the Spring/Summer. and ask on here of course. The pics you have put up show your van in a good light and it should fetch a good price.
and yes the T4 is a also possibility, lots to choose from on ebay. I like the autosleeper and holdsworth conversions. with luck you could break even on your sale and next purchase.
@Frannie, can I say that having owned a T2 and a T5, if you get a T5 you'll be sorry. Sorry you didn't do it years ago . Sure, doesn't look as good as a Bay. But it's a very personal thing. When we out in the T5, did I miss people waving or coming up to say "we used to have one of those"? No, I didn't. The safety aspect of a modern vehicle is a big plus for us. And as for" it's about the journey" and all that, it can still be like that in a T5. Go for it without regret, or at least not too much regret
I sold my T2 for a T25 8 years ago ,I have to say I don't regret it , even though the pleasure of driving a t2 was/is great ,I had no time to maintain it and i felt it would just get worser and worser... I still wanted to drive something retro ,although not a huge fan I wanted reliabilty and maintainance free ,lucky I picked the right "old" bus... t2 was a big part of the kids/family holidays growing up ,I have lots of memories ,when i sold the t2 the kids had outgrown camping etc... Every t2 I have sold has been a bit of a wrench ,my westy had sold and i was tidying it out and mrs lef came and said ,why did'nt we camp more? ,the kids turned out to wave it goodbye , it was quite emotional ... reading between the lines ,the gloss has definatly gone off his ownership...
Well that settles it, keep it.....no sell it.....keep,sell arrrgh. If I thought I could get ten grand from it towards a newer bus I think I would part with it, il take a few more detailed photos when I'm not in my jimjams
I can make it easier - I have one of those modern vans you are after and would be ok with a straight swap. If it works with you.
