WANTED Thermostat and bracket

Hi guys
Looking for genuine type thermostat and bracket for type 1 1.6. Happy to pay or swapsie
I have front panel repair sections, front panel inner valance!

Hi there how can tell what size engine thermostat off ?

 

Not sure but thermostat is bellows type if that is any help!

 

threecountiesdubber had a thermostat for sale. seemed he might have a couple to choose from. No bracket though.

 

I dont know if monkey harris is still on here, he had a few sold me bracket, rod and bellows last year for a reasonable price

 

Yep Monkey Harris had 3 a few weeks ago

Your welcome, if you are stuck I believe Paul Weeding can supply the bracketry and wheel set up.
And apparently a type 1 bellows can be used I have bookmarked a thread here I will try and find it.

Thanks every body appreciate your help. Sorry not to up on what is what really. I know I have a type I 1.6 flat four aircooled and that the bar spring and flaps are in place but the bracket thermostat and rod from thermostat to the bar are missing. General consensus on here is that it is important to have it in place, even though I have spoke with other mechanics who seem to think that it is not needed in this country if not gonna be using the van in the winter which is pretty much my intention but I think I would still like to put one on if I can pick up second hand bracket thermostat and rod so if any of you guys have what I am looking for please just give me the nod and I will PM you

Hi if it is type 1 bellows thermostat rod and bracket then yes please!

 

Said "mechanics" are wrong... this country probably needs the stat in place more than some other countries!!

The thermostat opens when the air coming off the engine reaches 65/70°c, so the core temp of the engine is going to be a lot higher than that!!

how so? mine now doesn't drip on the drive from the push rods......... i imagine they won't rust either
