The new " what have you done to your bay today " thread

Fitted 2 new steering rods and track rod ends after the shippers turned mine into boomerangs, also fitted yet another set of headlights and started to make up some new curtains.

Its first MOT tomorrow.

 

And we're here!

 

Made it go again without having to spend any money

 

Pulled up at lobb field and opened a beer

Took the V5 into the Post Office, who changed it to historic and taxed it. All without an MOT...
I'm not sure how that's possible...but it's taxed...and for free!

 

Finally fitted the last of the cab mats, it's only been kicking about in the van for 2 years!

Then ran the hoover around the carpet and tightened the fanbelt.

Also started re-pinning a couple of engine lid hinges but didn't finish that just yet

 

Cleaned surface rust from the boot and painted with rust inhibitor in preparation for covering with Silent Coat. Took it to fill up from Tesco, and using a decibel meter app - discovered inside can be as noisy as a tube train! Let's hope the silent coat works!

 

Fitted a new nearside front brake calliper and pads, old one was a right mess! On changing the pads on the offside, found one of the anti rattle ? plates missing, so erred on the side of caution and ordered a new one rather than have the piston act directly on the pads, think I did the right thing.

 

Took the old flywheel off the engine, cleaned up the new (recon) one, but think I need a different (wider) crankshaft seal.

 

put some fresh oil in gave it a check over warmed it up , fitted my bike rack, cleaned all my windows tightened up wing mirrors n cleaned vaseline off my chrome bits , ready for spring campout thurs

 

Chased wire for tacho feed from engine bay to cab while wondering where I put the tacho wiring diagram. Fitted replacement speakers to "cheese wedges" mounted on ceiling cabinet. Removed ceiling cabinet and most of plywood roof lining in anticipation of new one being delivered soon. Looked at state of lino and wished previous owner had used one that is a bit more grime friendly (this stuff is porous! Dark grey and light grey instead of black and white). Speakers tested successfully - just interior tidy up before first weekend away!

 

Thought about doing some of that but went to woods to build dens with the boys instead

What did you use to aid you with the polishing of these wheels?

 

emptied chip papers and sand out.

 

Added the latest accessory and road tested her down at Southend
