The new " what have you done to your bay today " thread

Me too. Just got him back in the garage yesterday, so have left him where he was today.

 

Collected Hattie from winter storage Took a little bit of chugging to get started, but not too bad after 4 and a half months. Moosey drove her home. I spent yesterday turning the house upside down trying to find the list of stuff to go back in that I'd made when we emptied her out last year. No luck. Ho hum.

 

What I didn't tell mrs.M until we got back was that the brakes are under-performing somewhat. And when I say "somewhat", I mean "by about 80%".
I have a week to fix this because they ain't going all the way to Sandown like that.

 

Bought a magnetic sump nut/plug ready for next oil change. Got a brilliant new name on here.

 

Visited a local restorer that had followed me on Twitter.

Quoted me £1500 for a bottom half respray, including restoring both bumpers.

got malc's rubbers out of my bus and wrapped them for him for collection monday....

My new wing mirrors arrived today and as soon as it stopped raining I ran outside, whipped off the oldies and put the new ones on. All sparkly new now.

 

Scarey grinding today. Removed a slither of the rear side of the sliding door. Thankfully managed to slice just the rotten bit so far!

 

Fitted ratio rockers - long story, but down-specced cam to escape from valve overlap so needed compensation. Goes fast as ever now.

Put a new fuel tank sender unit in. Also did complete oil and filter change before the new season.

Ooh yes slip of the tongue zed. It's because HE'S in my bad books at the mo.

Picking the new lump up from daaaaaaaaaahn Saaaaaaarf on Wednesday and then just waiting for the carbs and the exhaust pack, he's into the garage on the 25th. Squeeeeeee!

 

Got my breather box mount finished and painted, now all fitted and plumbed into the crank vent, just need to connect to the filters and that's another job finished.
