The Good Deed Thread.

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by hippyrichy, Oct 14, 2012.

  1. I've just spent 2 hours around my elderly neighbour's house, arm deep in drain goo, clearing out her drain then fixing her drain pipe.

What good deeds can you guys lay claim to?

    K for each deed.

  2. my good deed of the day is

I work as a nurse several days of the week. Enough said about good deeds :)

  4. last winter i helped an elderly chap whose mobility scooter broke down on the way to the shops. i pushed him back home, called the company line to report the breakdown, made him a cuppa, took his shopping list and did his shopping and gave him my mobile number in case there was something he'd forgotten to put on the list.

i went the next day after work to check to see if they'd been to repair it, which they had. :)

i received a lovely text later that night thanking me.

then others every night which weren't wholly appropriate :- until i received one which said he needed help and i went with my b/f. think the frisky old goat got the message then :)

  5. Good work guys. Keep them coming.

  6. i just regularly help out at Rochdale Dog Rescue... walking the rescue doggies and doing fundraisers too x

  7. I gained entry to yorkshire campers elderly neighbours house after she had locked herself out and before that
I let woody slide me through a small broken window to retrieve fire wood to keep the latebayers warm

  8. A while back Mrs Robo was perusing the handbags in John Lewis, trying to be helpful I picked up a bag saying what about this one? As I held it up I thought hey that's a bit heavy & on investigating to see if someone had placed a brick or something in it I found it full of stuff including a mans wallet bulging with cash!

I took it to a member of staff who said thank you and asked me to wait, he came back and gave me a voucher for coffee & cake for two in their cafe, which was nice...

Oh MAN - i nearly had a 60mph head on with 3 bikes and a roofrack in my truck on the m6 at teebay yesterday , i helped the guy scrape the mess up off the motorway , piled it all into my lorry to save him being nicked and seriously prosecuted by old bill and met him at the next services to see what we could salvage from the wreckage and he took one look in the back of my truck hung on to one bike scoffed at the rest and devilled off without so much as a thank you --

i'd do it again though - just not for him !

  14. Id rather have the basic skills to provide for my family in times of hardship and be deemed strage in normal times than be stinking rich a celebrity in normal times and have no idea how to filter water in hard times

Im old and grumpy well before my time but i think modern life is false and fragile and unsustainable

I dont face book or tweet a rarely email and i have never owned an x box lol

People ask me how i fill my time and the answers always the same life fills it for me

A couple of christmases back at Lincoln Christmas Market we came upon an elderly couple. The husband pushing the wife in a wheelchair up hill so I offered and tool over. If you know Lincoln you know thats one hell of a hill.
