How did you expect it to work?

But then it told me I had gathered 0.1 kWH from the solar cells since Sunday and used 0 5kWH of leisure power, difference coming from hookup and engine I suppose, as I have driven about 90 miles since.

Are you sure you’ve gone to the right place? That looks a bit heavy duty agricultural rather than dainty sewing.

  6. No, because there's no gubbins inside it that would do that, unless it was somehow triggered by a spurious ignition pulse when you turned the ignition on.

Ignition on, relay off. Crank engine, relay turns on. Turn engine off, relay turns off after about a 1 second timeout.

Relay is the KAE one, but the Porsche and VW circuits are much the same.

  8. Also the pin 1/31b does need triggering from the coil - it doesn't (in fact can't) work if you just stuff +12V on it. Needs about 35 - 60V on the terminal. I assume this comes from back emf from the coil. It's magic.

But does it work with the 123? Mine doesn’t.

  11. Nope, not with my 123. I assume there's no spurious jiggy business, as the 123 won't energise the coil unless the engine's cranking over.

    Fitted the windscreen back in.

I have been dreading doing this but it went in without much hassle, the hardest part was getting the seal on the screen.

Checked the oil, drove it to work and back.

Went and got a curry takeaway in it this evening.
