Hello Peeps

Will there be anyone there who can give me a lot of tips with regards to panel replacement/ rust removal/ general bodywork jobs? The van isn't on the road yet so i would bring pictures down instead.

I'm a mechanic so I'm all good for the servicing side, but bodywork is new to me.

Gutted, sorry guys this clashes with Goodwood Revival. And watching classic's race unfortunately beats watching you lot stagger round trying to do an oil change with a hangover

hmm, i've agreed to go to a school reunion on the 15th BUT think i'd rather go to this as i NEED to learn more about the bus especially as things keep on breaking

i'm a maybe but will try - i can provide gin/pimms and bunting but my mechanical skills are rubbish.

 

Dunc - Cut out the rust, weld on new parts when you can get them and make them if you can't.

Honestly? You could talk about bodywork all day, but when you come to do it, it'll be suck it and see. There are loads of resto threads on here detailing all the gore! It's not something you can desrcibe in the same way as bolting on a part or setting a gap. What I'm trying to say is, for the teachers it's a holiday too and speaking for myself, I won't want to talk about bodywork. I bliddy hate bodywork. The thought of bodywork makes me feel ill, I've had my fill of it. I'll pay someone else next time....

Someone else might like to though.

 

I'm joking - I have a chair, but just not as luxorious as the one Doug brings that I squat in.

 

Ha-ha - ok, to be serious - don't bring owt on my account - I'm just mucking about.
I'm sure I've ruined Dougs chair with oil and grime not to mention it's really his missus's chair - I bet she's impressed with the way I look after it for her.

Anyway, I'm going to make another atempt not to stay up all Friday night and spend the rest of the weekend recovering. I'm going to be helpful.

Always wanted to go to Techenders. Think it would be so useful for us to get some good advice from people and of course hang out and have a few jars. Got quite a few different things at wknds planned in september so I really hope this is free.

there's always the option to move the van to top field of a night time if anyone is desperate for electric and then just slum it during the day......we ain't talking a mile walk so that's possible if we need to

 

That's if the top field isn't booked by anther event and Eddie is ok with it.
