A snow hole is the plan
Ive never built one before so im looking foward to the experiance if it doesent all go to plan ill drop down lower and build a debris shelter in a patch of woodland

Its all riding on a lift at the moment as i dont think id get the car out of there in the morning

 

Do a snow cave properly & you're as snug as anything.
Do it incorrectly & you can die of asphyxiation. There were 4 young guys killed at the snow a few years ago, we didn't find the bodies until the spring thaw.

 

Ill be building more of an emergency snow hole instead of a proper snowcave so ventilation shouldent be a problem
But to be on the safe side i will make a ventilation hole above and use my walking staff to keep it clear

Of course once i get up there if i feel im going to be out of my depth of conditions severly worsen then ill drop down lower and seek shelter

Last session out i used a tarp against the opposite side of a dry stone wall to the wind
It was quite cosy whilst asleep but getting ready and packing up to walk out in the morning was an experaince

 

Well the snow still hasent turned up looks like ill be painting the otherside of my petrol tank tonight instead

M6 Toll Road was fairly hideous, and Brum a complete white out but not too awful a journey. Tons of snow round here in the West Country.

Well i did put IF but someone said more like when, so i changed it :- just got back from our artic expedition to essex ;D spades flasks etc ;D only car on the m2 for miles going up but never seen so many snow ploughs lol, everyone had stayed at home. sprinkle in essex n bone dry all way home . It will probably come tomorrow :- , Hope wedding goes ok and the supermarkets can get some more of those special burgaz in did you see the shelves in wales .
Anyway had my nerve tests, shock treatment : and doc said dont worry about the cold your fully charged up for a few days ha de ha, wooow he could make you jump ill tell ya, next step is op or no op :-. Enjoy your sledging folks ??? 8)
