T4 & t2 pcd

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Foxy, Mar 23, 2013.

  1. A search on here didn't bring anything up but a google search leads me to believe that the pcd for both is the same.

    Am I right?

Same pcd but t4's have smaller centres so wont fit unless you have them bored out

  5. Would boring them out be the easier option compared to adapters? I'm wanting to purchase the wheels so I can put a big set of all terrains on. I need the r15 you see.

  6. Your after some 15 for the same reason as me then foxy:thumbsup:
Having the centres taken out to the correct diameter is fine

  8. Very nice

Ill look forward to finding out how you get on and any problems you encounter
They are going to look awesome on a bus and no spinning in the mud leaving wet showgrounds for you:thumbsup:

ive got a lathe but wont fit on there but could put them on a mill and open them up, but to be honest if you got the right tank cutter that fit over the lip of the center and cut it out i think this would do it. as standard bay wheels are not hubcentric they are wheel bolt centric iam going to practise with these when i get time then if all ok find some 16inch steels. also the new beetle is 5x112

  11. Good link para. I'm going to give that a good read with a cold beer tonight. I understand your bus is away at present getting some love. Is this your next mod when you get her back home?

  12. I have a t4 with 15 inch steels and my t2 is sat on axle stands in the garage, if I get a chance I will put a t4 wheel on the t2 and take a PIC, will also see if the offset is stamped on the steelie, if that is any help?

  13. I cant afford to do anything about the wheels or tyres for a fair while dude as im totally skint for the forseable future
Luckily the tyres on my standard wheels are almost brand new so at least i will be able to get out and use the bus when its finished

15 inch wheels and some good all terrain tyres are on the high priority list though when funds become available

Ive done some searching and found the following info regarding t4 wheels

    pcd 5 x 112
    center bore 57.1
    offset 55
    mounting bolt 14 x 1.50

  15. Apparently the bore of the center hole is too large

this shouldn't matter as its the wheelnuts what hold it concentric, the centrebore hole is just for clearance of the castle nut, surely

  17. Nope otherwise aftermarket alloy wheels wouldent need spigot rings fitting
There is a reason for it i just cant remember it of the top of my heado_O

its probably the offset that causes the issues!
