Coroded rocker cover bail snapped off leaving flush bit in head. It's next to No.4 and you can't even get your finger to it. Any bright ideas?
I don't have one, and as I said you can't even get a finger to it. Out of interest, what would it do to the head?
Can you get bolt on covers for T4 engines? Owner is skint and engine out and dismantle just to access this seems a bit OTT.
If your quick with it it won't touch the head, you could try welding something to it, but sounds like you're gonna have to get a bit more involved
He might have to have one of those then. This bus has not been maintained for the 18 years the owner has had it, other than someone changing the oil. Everything breaks, all the tinware screws shear off, all the silencer studs asheared off. 2 valves have recessed 2mm into (the other) head due to penny sized hole in the servo pipe and the heat echanger loosing a stud/loose on this pot. The fuel pump has peed oil over everything, it needs a complete rebuild during which everything will break as you take it off. MOT repairs nightmare! He has no money, I have no time. We are both unhappy.
If I could I wouldn't - drilling hard steel out of soft ali never goes well... I'd be happy blobbing weld onto it if I could even see the bugger!
Oh, well I'm sure if you walk away have a think and come back to it you'll come with something fella.
Sounds like a whole world of pain and bolt on covers maybe the best option untill he can raise more funds
