I'm putting together a 2L Aussie bay for a customer from a pile of boxes.
Engine's all done, but looking for the regulator, all I can find is a cast aluminium thing with small fins and only 2 terminals.

Does anyone know what this thing is? It has VW AUS cast into it.
And/or could someone with an Aussie bay post a pic of the regulator - should be mounted on the firewall, RHS.

Meanwhile I'll get a pic of the thing I did find. ::)

    Thanks. :)

  4. That would be it

Don't ask me how it's wired tho

  5. Are DF and D+ not all you need for a dynamo?

An odd thing, but I'd say it's a solid-state alternative to the traditional vibrating-contact type, which was invented in the early Iron Age :)

Being Aussie, you'll find it has an additional output indicating "Battery Voltage Lower Than a Dead Bear's Arse (Mate)".
