  1. Looks like a knockoff of BugTech German shifter?!

  2. I actually went through your thread to find that name yesterday evening.
Yes they look good indeed, are cheaper and made in France (I think I should see that as a good thing :p). I might get one at some point.

  6. bugtech is great design and quality. i got one originally but SWMBO didn't let me fit it; too modern for the look of an old bus. I hindsight she was right.. berg looks much better.

Is Bugtech the one with the exposed bars, levers, pins and stuff – for someone to jam their toes into?

  8. yes

  9. in fairness you could always knock up a leather boot for the exposed gubbins if you wanted. TBH i think my wife was also a bit put off by the marketing leaflet that came with the bugtech, scantily clad young lady holding said shifter in a provocative manner.. maybe targeted at a younger demographic o_O

  11. Scuse my ignorance but what do these £200/£300 shifters give you over the stock ones? Guessing it is something to do with eliminating the stirring porridge feeling:)

They’re not necessarily better; but they do have significantly shorter throw.

  19. We could chip in, buy Theresa May a resto project. She will be so shocked by the spiraling cost, she will negotiate a deal to end UK/USA import duty.

  20. i have a gene berg shifter that i'm looking at selling if anyone is interested, it was for a 1974 latebay RHD. It's in really good condition and i still have the original packaging and instructions for fitting. Looking for £150
