Is that what they are called? Thinking of installing a cooker & sink. Looking at the smev 8821 but wondered about the swing out cookers I see in vans. Think that might be a nice way of cooking inside & outside. Anyone seen any for sale, I’ve seen a bracket on eBay that I could then build something. Maybe @davidoft had something??
It is useful if you can easily remove it. Not sure if the standard hinge allows this. I have a pair of normal hinges and replaced the hinge pin with a long m4 bolt so you can just pull the pins out and remove the cooker.
They are usually called Devon swing out cookers. Made by fellows. I'll check the eBay pictures on a computer later. Can take some photos of mine later if needed, anything for the New Improved Ray
@Razzyh the eBay link is a Devon bracket, the only thing to point out is that the bracket in the photo's is shown upside down and it does unclip, come off in a second I usually take it off and rest it on a fold up step, just to keep the smell out of the van
I think the black bit of that bracket is homemade. Here are some better photos of the bracket bit. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-T2-DE...=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
I don’t have anything @Razzyh , but there was a guy on prototype bay selling a couple of nos Devon ones I think
The eBay one you linked may just be missing the black knob, hard to tell. Front of bracket with black knob to completely remove the cooker. As I don't have a bulk head to mount the bracket onto I have a few extra bits of metal that aren't standard. Back of cooker - how the bracket is screwed on.
That I did! Gave up trying to find one so made one from some steel I had kicking around the workshop. Dropped off at the powdercoaters yesterday. Mines not easily removable though, bolt at the top and a partially threaded rod at the bottom. Don’t think I’d want to remove it as the cabinet weighs a fair bit and it needs plumbing into my LPG tank. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My complete cooker and devon table cost £110 ebay in 2017. - Kindly delivered to techenders by @SkutterBob Included: Both bits of hinge. cooker unit with the warming rack (this is a crucial bit as it holds the sides up) and cooker top. Grill pan. Devon table and 4 legs. Bracket that holds the cooker top to the bulk head (not the same as the swing out hinge).
Only ones I have at the moment. Think I will end up adding some ali/stainless steel sheet to the underside of the lid and the sides. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
looks different to mine, mines the same as the first link, although i have no buckhead either i'm guessing Devon would adapt the bracket to suit whichever type it was fitted into
Oh yeah the one in the first ebay link has two straight bits of metal My one and every other one ive seen and the ebay link i posted have a bent bit that is fixed and the straight bit that 'swings out'
