Sump plug temperature sender

I am trying to fit a VDO sump plug temperature sender but it just won't fit, its hitting the underside of the oil strainer




has anyone else had much luck with one of these?

 

That oil strainer looks a bit odd to me

 

I have got a Brazilian air cooled lump ln my bus if that makes a difference

 

Where's the sender from and how much

 

I had the same problem. In the end I fitted it in a t-piece in the full flow pipe.

I spaced mine off with a extra washer but might get one of these funds allowing

Won't make any difference... it does look like the sump strainer has changed slightly tho... looks like it is curved as opposed to flat!!

The sender looks fine... about the right length...

I looked at that csp sump plate. Think i will fit that next time I change the oil.
