Yesterday i went to start the van and it was very sluggish , anyhow it did start but just ! i had fitted a thermostat for the propex and had left it on zero but heard it occasionally kick in , it had obviously run the battery down , anyhow i got to where i was going and when i tried starting it again it was flat -- i jump started it and later inspected the terminals etc , the earth strap was cracked at the clamp ,i changed it and charged the battery overnight . Today i have been out to start her and there's nothing happening , i have lights on the dash that are nice and bright but nothing happens when i turn the key - no clicking , no whirr nothing -just -- nothing ? i have even charged the leisure battery and tried jumping it from that -- nothing :- Whats happened folks ?
sound like the ignition switch or the connections on the starter . Try wiggling the connector on the end of the switch and the same on the starter Then if you can put a meter on the wire on the starter solenoid and earth then get someone to try and start it MAKE SURE ITS IN NEUTRAL
If your battery was on the way out and you ran it right down, it may not be keen to take charge again. They don't like being fully discharged.
Sorted , i went out and checked for loose connections , found the only loose connection was the earth here -- screw connection bottom left tightened it and bingo , sorted
