  3. We might pop along again - it was nice last year to see fellow TLB-ers again after the winter break. Doubt we'll be camping, though - we're far too nesh...

  4. I used to work in the gardens there Terrordales, when were you there?

That'd be about 11 years ago, I was there for a conference & it just happened to coincide with school holidays so took the family. Shame it was in January, probably not the best time to see it at its best.

  6. After my time bud, they'd got contractors in by then. We had a walled vegtable garden around the back, grew all the cut flowers for the arrangement in the hotel, and greenhoses too. Last time I was there they had bulldozed the lot, buildings included.

  11. Well I for one will be poping across from Leeds to the gate to take a look as my bay has just come back from Rob the upholsterer (harlequin) and is looking mighty fine with her new seats and beds so kinda just want to show her off..!!

We went Mark - not a great show but needs time to grow. Met up with @chris_r582 for a coffee and a chat :).

  15. Yeah it was pretty lame inside to be honest ,the camping was OKish but loads of noise due to being under a massive shed so all echeoed.

That was last year Dave

  17. I made the trip up for Donny & struggled to last an hour.

Zero things of interest in the 'Auto Jumble' shed, stickers & hoodies were the order of the day.

There were more Seat Ibizas, Skoda Octavias, A3s, Polos & Golfs than anything else, we were definitely in the minority.

I left having spent my entrance fee x4 & a pack of overpriced biscuits for the kids - V Disappointed!

  18. Apologies all :(

  19. I am afraid I have to agree with berpit spent 5 hours on the road and 35 minutes at the show and could not find anything to spend my wonga on. The venue itself is as big as Volksworld and has the potential to be a big attraction for northern dubbers. Only one autojumble stand in the whole complex for T4 enthusiasts. I felt sorry for the stands that did turn up,I didn't see much trade going on and I am a bit hoodie and stickered out. On the plus side nobody asked for any admission money,I was waved through at the gate house. A warning too would have been great about the roadworks in Harrogate for the forthcoming Tour de France visit meant stationary traffic for almost an hour on leaving the venue. The Old boy didn't like that very much on his first run of the year. The trip was not all doom and gloom.I spent my formative years in Harrogate in the days when ladies wore fur coats to Bettys and James Herriot the Vet was a regular at the tearoom. I had not been back for a number of years so many happy memories pootling the back streets to avoid the main road chaos and the travellers rest still serves one of the finest John Smiths in Yorkshire.
