Speaker Locations....

  1. where is the best place to mount speakers in a bus, without it looking nasty or rubbish? Can they be mounted under the dash where the little perforations are, so the sound comes up thru the dash, or does this sound awful? I dont really wanna add speakers in the door cards in the front, as i dont like them there, but i cant really think of anywhere else to put them? I know i could put some in the back somewhere, but dont want them in the bed front board, suppose i could put some in the overhead locker maybe, so that'd poss do for the rears, but where can i put the fronts??

    Any ideas, and or photos'??

  2. I'm like you and I don't want them in the doors. I was thinking about putting them under the front seats. Make a wooden box and put the speakers in them under the seats.

  3. lots of people put them in the kick panels.

Under seats fine for bass, but you'll need the tweeters higher up to lift the sound. Tweeters can be tiny and I've seen buses where the tweeters sit on the dash (they're magnetic) with the wire's down through the vents. Just a thought. :)

I'm in the same boat - speakers you can hear but can't see. Hmmmm

  5. yeah, suppose the kick panels is an option, i've got a good set of 3 way components in the garage, might see where i can wedge them neatly at the weekend then......

  14. Where did you get the vent speakers from. I've been looking around for some the fit and are good speakers.

  15. ;D
i had loads of odd ball speakers laying around
tested a few for size and the ones i used where sony surround items really good mid range and dont distort
they fit really nice dont you think

  16. Don't suppose you know the item code for them? Narrows the search down a bit.

  17. as said they where a sony surround speaker nothing that spech mate
but heres the only thing i have
    model ss-ts3
they came in a pastic pod on a stand
they keep up well with the 10 inch sub but im sure they be plenty of car audio speakers about just take the covers of and mount them behind the vent hole
i was lucky that they fit the dia perfectly
    hope this helps

  18. Cheers mate, I've seen a few that I could fit behind the vents but I really wanted ones that fit perfectly in the vents. I hadn't thought of using some surround sound speakers.

    I'm off to trawl eBay!

  19. I'm going to have some in the kick panels, have some under the rock and roll bed.
Not the best for sound but I dot really want them on show...
