Just put new spark plugs in, Bentley says torque to 22 ft lbs for a type 4, I did em by feel and nowhere near that setting. The setting seems high, didnt want to strip the thread, any comments chaps?
I normally do them by feel too... you can feel the crush washer flattening so no need to go too mad!! I had a service on a 1300 bug a few years back where I had to put my jack handle on my ratchet to crack them off!!
I always had the same question with my bikes. i just run them in by hand and then a 1/4 of a turn to nip them up and compress the crush washer. Also i was given a good tip. Use anti seize on the threads but dont get it nead the electrodes.
