  3. If it's a Li-Ion job, I hope you don't charge it in the house

Nothing wrong with the 0.8ah charger for maintaining a battery (which was the question in the first post:rolleyes:).

    Didn't ignore anything!
    Check post sequence :)
Unless you mean ignoring suggestions like plugging direct into the mains?
Not worth your time really, but the answer to your question is in the thread

If you use it in a basically dry place it should be OK.

    Post 1, me:
To keep a starter battery or leisure battery topped up

    Post 2, the oracle:
    CTek. End thread

    Post 14, me:
Carpe Diem" ... About to nab one.

    Post 15, the oracle:
    0.8A is pretty weedy

  11. The Oracle was referring to the standard 5A CTek, not the Charge-Your-Lawnmower version.

You and Mr Gall assuming that I'm a mind reader then?
Admittedly, tbf, you were pretty quick off the mark after I said "about to", but I didn't hang about for replies .... because I was on it.
Not really sure why @crossy2112 thinks I didn't take advice ... Ctek happened and the 0.8 fine for the job.
Oh, and "The Oracle" isn't derogatory, as I think you may have taken it :hattip:

Snotts recommended ctek, I think if you look through the product range you went for one of the cheapest and it did say in the advert what it was for.
I thought I was being kind saying try it out and if it is inadequate you can always upgrade?

Happy to take advice from snotty, that's why I call him the Oracle :)

I understood that bit of what you were saying ok and sure, if it's no good I can swap it out, but ...
at the risk of raising another "ffs" elsewhere:
I didn't look through the range because the one on @bluerustybucket 's post and link is
for "maintaining" which is all I'm after.
Having recently had a fit of pre-Crimbo retail therapy I'm penny-pinching on things like this!
We got into nit-picking on the order of who said what when ... I can assure you I didn't ignore anyone. The "problem" was, I think, that I went straight from asking to acting, and for everyone else, (unless they were totally "on it" ... why would they be? ...) the conversation was still going on?
I'll also admit to assuming that you were under the influence of heavy pain killers :)
It's going to be fine, and I don't think we've exactly killed TLB in the process

They wouldn't give me that when I broke my wrist because my blood pressure was down at about 80/35 :colour drain:
