  1. Two different locations aswell somthings amiss

  2. Most definatley...I have reported the listing to ebay.

It has had 17 offers but the seller hasn't responded to a single one as yet...hmmm wonder why??

There is no telephone number either.

  3. if t sounds to good it is no good avoid like the plague owen nw

  4. dog

    dog Tea Boy

    proper dodgy!

  5. they have probably copied the ad and put it on ebay in the hopes some one will transfer £3,800 and then they will dissapear!

  6. Looks that way, I just hope that it gets sorted before some poor unsuspecting naive persons parts with their hard earned cash.

It happened to my partner's boss's daughter, she stupidly paid £3,000 to someone on ebay for a VW Bay via a dodgy alleged PayPal link and hey guess what the seller disappeared!!!

  7. Should we spam him with 99p offers and daft questions

  8. steer clear - if its too good to be true it probably is. What will happen is some poor s@d will have their bid accepted and will be sent an Ebay classified ad invoice directly to their email and not through Ebays "My Messages". The email will say that you will pay the funds into an escrow account held by Ebay and that Ebay will only release the monies once youve seen and collected the van. As soon as you pay the money, its gone and you will turn up somewhere to find that the van doesnt belong to anyone at the address youve been given. How do I know - it happened to me in Oct last year but I had sussed before handing over any cash

  9. Defo dodgy. But well spotted.

    Silver Needs points/will pay!

I found an add like this last year and offered full asking price, won the auction and then insisted on cash on collection, payment in full on collection. They insisted on escrow, I only ever offered cash. Never heard another word from the seller and he never re listed. ???

  11. theres a samba splitty on gum tree for £7500 too ::)

  12. last time we saw one of these scams, they advertised a bay and a splitty. Pretended to be in the army , in Scotland.
wanted money transffering and were going to leave the van outside the barracks. I know a young guy that was considering paying up the money.

  13. Contact the seller on gumtree and give them the ebay link

  14. I called the seller on Gumtree and he was not best pleased when I told him about the ebay listing and especially as when I told him how much it was listed as!!! But he was grateful for the info.

Out of devilment I sent a message to the seller asking if I could view it the only response I got back was:

    "i am from london"

Hmmm.... so advertised as being in Stoke on Trent but they say they are in London, I'm waiting for the next message asking me if I want to do a deal and pay by escrow or likewise.....So tempted to wind them up and play along for a while :D

  15. Silver

    Silver Needs points/will pay!

Do it....ask to view it and offer cash ;D

  16. Sooooo tempted....should I...shouldn't I??

  17. Wind em up dotty whilst there busy with you there wasting time they could use to scam someone else

  18. Just replied saying that's fine, no problem, offered the full asking price if they will hold it for me and said I can collect this week or at the weekend....

What's the betting that the next message will be asking for either a deposit or payment.

    watch this space ...
