Has anybody bought a new rubber that fits on the top rail of the sliding door and managed to fit it. Can't get it to stay on even with putting it in hot water 1st to soften it. Any ideas would be apprecited

  2. Assume you mean the trim inside? It’s a beggar until you get the hang of it. It kind of hooks over from the top, then plops into place. With sufficient profanity, it will go on.

  5. I forget what the trick is. Try feeding it over from the curvy end, then down the straight bit.

.......after many attempts and the type of profanity that would've made Sid Vicious blush, mine is back in the garage. One day I hope to be mentally strong enough to fit this.

Trim? .... I've just got the door seal and no obvious place for anything else ... any chance of a picture from someone foul mouthed enough to have fitted one?

  9. Recommendations?
I’ve used all the English ones I could think of, trying to fit the trim.

As said, I think sliding it on from the curve (copper grease) might be the only way.

  10. Tried Cantonese?

  11. Conveniently I know more profanity in Cantonese than other languages. I’ll give it a go!

  12. Cantonese seems like the idle cussing language

  13. Likewise, what is this trim of which we speak? I did get a rubber surround once to fit over the Westy louvred window, but I'm guessing it's not that.

  14. The bit of white rubbery trim that goes around the upper edge of the sliding door track inside the van.

  16. Aha. I think as mine's a Westy they've done it differently with a wide plastic strip. camper 135.jpg

  17. Another one for the album. Can't remember whether it hooks on from the top or bottom.

<edit> Looking at @Devon233 's pic, the very inner lip hooks over the doorframe pressing from above. Then you give it a good shove down. Maybe.

  18. There is actually a little push-in end cap that goes on the end. Not that it matters.
