The AEC club would probably know of it's first owner or military owner ...the military build spec will be very clearly obvious to the AEC fanatic ...someone will have a full list no doubt .

They would have had petrol engines originally , don't know when diesels were offered if ever .
Most were converted to diesels by the operators .

 

Couldn’t face going back to work yet so had a bit of time to excavate the front of the beetle- maybe this year it will be put back together...,,

I remember the Scammell Explorer used to run Meadows petrol engines which i thought was odd for a big truck.

Is it true, that if a certain amount of shrubland was burnt off in the winter, then the fire wouldn’t be able to spread to houses,farms etc? I read it somewhere that it used to be done, but the Oz government stopped it for some reason.

 

The RFS, CFA etc try to do backburns or controlled burns during the winter but unfortunately the last few years the conditions have been so dry it's been to dangerous.
There's no truth in the internet stories that the Greens or even the idiot conservative government we have currently have banned this.
