Boltby bank area, bit further north of the White horse overlooking the A19 near Thirsk. Was first time out n about after three days of enforced inactivity.

Pup was just getting a sniff of the biggest hare I've ever seen.

 

Been awake most of the night keeping an eye on this one, very smoky out there but the fire is still some distance from us.

 

Do they water-bomb them?

 

They do, there's a few helicopter bombers, a couple of Skytanker helicopters and some big tanker aircraft but most of them are being used on the really big fires up north and around the fires west of Sydney. The one helicopter down here and I think the bag it dunks in the lake holds about 1000 litres, which is better than nothing.
