.....so only the bracket on the beam required? .....how do you ensure allignment with the brake pedal leaver?
Hi I'm thinking of doing it as well any advice on make of servo an best place to get it . If it just bolts strait to the MC Cheers Rich
Another thing you could consider is a remote servo, which gives you the freedom to put it where it fits - screwed to the chassis rail, mebbe. There's a guy on the web (have lost the address) who sells a dual-circuit remote. I keep meaning to buy one.
Fit the new actuator rod to the brake pedal, and line it all up loosely assembled, tack the mounting plate to the beam, pull the servo out and weld it in

This is on my todo list, is there a kit out there ? is it worth a rear disk conversion at the same time? Where can you get a brazil servo and m/c
Rear discs... now where have I put my popcorn zed it's the old rear disc scenario again Mucka, there is no "kit" as far as I know... you just have to get all the bits and go for it
I don't really like the colour of you van anymore I think you should change it, along with your brakes and scratchy windows Stop gaying around and get it mot'd for beach buggin you got 4 weeks, plenty of time for a man of you calibre, or you could always camp the year after next. fix what you got, upgrades after its been used, you may not even like driving it my vans not painted yet, it needs an interior upholstery brakes a paint job mot and registering and im going to beach buggin in it, you can park next to me and horts X X
......I probably wont go for the servo upgrade at this point due to time and lack of money, I think it will have to be an upgrade once its on the road ....and it probably wont be ready for bugging unless I have a cash windfall and a month off of work .....its nearly there though!!!
I have servo brakes on mine and I can say its delightful. Much like a modern car. I can also agree the worst is when the servo brakes have no servo assist. I had this happen to me once I didnt realise that the little rubber angle pipe from the manifold was perished. Went out in the bus one day a it had lost vacum. Now I don't really use the brakes much, don't really go over fast and find I have enough air braking with the massive front pannel . As I started going down a big hill and then realised. Luckily for us the lights turned at the bottom just in time Phew. It is so much harder braking with no servo and it takes a moment to realise what has happened when it goes. All I can say is check your vac pipes as well as your fuel lines when you buy a bus!
