Shock horror

Ive just removed the coil from my fan housing to find its a lucas made in england coil
Still its worked fine so far and should polish up nice lol

 

You did mention that your van hadn't moved for quite a while

Whilst giving it a quick rub over with the autosol ive found its stamped with the vw and audi logo on the bottom

 

Wheres @rickyroo when you need him he was a lucas geek

I miss giving him jibes about the poo bus

 

Hes still around just not as much i think

Ive even managed to get the part number readable on the bottom of the coil aswell 043-905-115

Im intrigued at a vag coil made by lucas

Whats puzzling me is i thought vw only used bosh electrics?
But this is a lucas coil stamped with the vw and audi logo and looks pukka

 

I think they did make some coils for VW - ratwell mentions it. Odd, if only because I believe Lucas and Bosch in the early days signed an agreement to stay off each others turf.
