  2. I'd disagree really, I'd rather my boys come home dirty, after having a fun kick about.. Letting off steam on the field. The restrictions in the tennis court kept them pent up.

  3. Have you expressed your view to the school? Not nagging, but unless they hear that they're cocking stuff up, they're unlikely to change their ways. Worth a try.

  4. Anyway whats wrong with falling off 5 times , it is good to learn how to fall off ,for when some prat motorist knocks you off because he cant be arsed to look properly or stop at a junction. Ask me how i know

  6. In my day, if you didn't throw up into the bushes at least twice on a cross-country, you weren't trying...

  8. My boys come home caked in mud most days. It's not a big deal. We have a washing machine and they are playing and having fun. I pity the parents who get the hump.

  9. I don't actually think it's the parents. It's head teachers who a) are crap and b) live in mortal fear of being sued.

We were never allowed on the field in break time as they didn't want a school full of muddy school uniforms. Made sense to me at the time and I'm sure MOST of the parents agreed with the policy.
Running around is running around; it made no difference to us if it was on the tennis courts or field.

  13. I told them last week, that he'd be a liability on the roads, given his lack of control...
I also made sure that his SEN was standing next to me, when I asked the boy to ride around the pitch...he reported back to the head....it was patently obvious he wasn't ready. Given the boy's lack of skill, a couple of hours practice would be insufficient....I gave him a Level 1 certificate and badge, along with congratulations on being able to ride...I also wrote a note to his parents with some exercises and games they can do at home (with the emphasis on they)
