i meant i don't know any mechanics to bring along, i "get by" with spanners as you know but instruction is a no-no! i meant it would be upto tuesday to ask instructors to come.

  7. FYI, last year they did try to organise one down south, called "Southenders" and held in conjunction with the JK open day, i guess it was a good idea in case parts were required. The field next to JK warehouse was used.
IMO it was a washout (and I was there) not many arrived, weather was crap, very poorly organised and in general no "spannering" happened. (from what i saw, i was the only person that did any and all I did was to fit a continental roof bed on my own)

there are a couple of vw places within a 20 min trip close to eddies for parts and also eddie himself has many spares and vans himself, he is willing to let you strip his own vans/parts and replace after the event, i belive nobody has ever been left stranded at the event.

  10. I think it's great location, there's pubs and a chinese close by.
    It was cheap to camp
Eddies £5 breakfast was a bargain
Eddies help and use of tools Ramps and the barn was excellent

I Know it's a drive for some , it's 140 miles for me but it's central for a lot of people and is easy to get too.

Plus if you arrange a little convoy the drives more fun

anyway back to the poll, i can do any weekend but i'm gonna check dates at work tomorrow to see if i can book the friday off on the agreed one, i hate rushing after work and it's any excuse to book a friday off for me.

  12. Can you add a "i love techenders but those dates are not good" :)

  13. Also, have the previous event arrangers totally pulled out of all future techenders ? Is Ash no longer bothering with this ?

can only vote on one option? if we go majority you need to let the vote be open to multi pick

Zed, for the vote of confidence i thank you!, as i said to Tuesday i'll happily organise and liase with people and generally sort things out if needed, it's only the same thing i do at work so i'm fine with that, and as you said to me my spannering is ok it's just an eye over the shoulder i need sometimes to encourage me... but Techenders needs teachers for sure and i don't know any, maybe you old hands could try to pin down if the guys who normally come can commit or maybe we could call for people off here who are willing to show things, i'm thinking Pie, Paul weeding, Joker etc etc these guys know some stuff, and you can never have too much help. The alternative is of course talking amongst ourselves who are definates about who is confident on what areas and maybe even double teaming to help each other out, for example sometimes the guy on the spanners may not neccecarily be up for talking to a crowd but his skills may be good enough, having a more vocal guy pointing out what he is doing may help? anyway as i say just see what happens but deffo promoting the next one a bit better with just one thread once the dates are sorted will help to pin down who is committted to who is not turning up, as Zed says Eddie was out of pocket for sure and still wanted to give money back to some of us who didn't use the barn for 2 nights!, when we pick a date we will try to be a bit more organised with pinning down attendees for the next one, i don't think the weather forcast helped but as you say it's a bit off from 30 deffos to 15? but that was their loss.Rick.
