Seat belt 3 point

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Wheelhouse, Jan 10, 2016.

  1. hi all

I currently have a rear lap belt in my bay but want to fit a 3 point one instead.

There seems to be a lot out there and wondered if someone could advise which one and if any mods would be required or would it bolt straight in.

    Thanks in advance.

If you've got seatbelt mounting points under the rear window they'll bolt straight in, but one of @davidoft's extension brackets will make it fit better.

  3. Hi Baysearcher

Just been and had a look, at it appears that there is a hole under the rear window.

    Thanks

If anyone as a decent used one in Nottingham then please give me a shout.

A decent what, seatbelt or extension?
I'd only buy new seatbelts, you don't know what's happened to second hand ones.

  5. I was talking about a seat belt. Fair comment about second hand ones though.

    Thanks

  7. Hi davidoft
Is the bracket required to fit the seatbelt or does the belt just bolt in to the existing hole under the window?

    Thanks

To do it properly you need the bracket for a 3 point inertia belt

  9. Hi davidoft

What is the bracket for and is it a mod as I cannot see it on any of the seat belt suppliers.

    Thanks

  10. That's because only @davidoft supplies them..

It raises the height of the mount point to a safer position and allows you to fitted a 3 point inertia belt

  12. Hi Davidoff

Are you still able to manufacture and supply these brackets.

    Thanks
