Couldn't get away from school fast enough and haven't seen a soul since, so I can't think why I'd want to now.
Reunions are usually organised by the really nosey people who like to measure their success against yours. The bitchy girls are still bitchy, bullies still bullies and the ugly fat girls.....
Also all the fit birds at school, the ones who matured early are all big fat munters now, some of the plain janes are stunners
I wouldn't go. Alot of kids in school with me were downright nasty to me just because I have red hair. It often ended with me having fights on a regular basis!! Back in my day...... we had individual wooden desks with ink wells in them and this horrible kid who I hated because she was a bully was sat infront of me. She was posh and always had the best bags and accessories and spoke "like the queen" - anyway, she was sat infront of me with two long plaited pigtails which reached below her shoulderblades. She was wearing a dazzlingly (not sure if that's a word!!) white blouse. I dipped her lovely pigtails in my ink well and it stained her blouse hahahahahaha Revenge is sweet
only had a small circle of friends at school and once we left I lost contact - went to the 10 year reunion (17 years ago) - i wouldnt bother again
That's because the really fit girls from school always ended up getting up the stick really early - they'll have had about 3-4 kids in quick succession from the moment they left school. In my class, one girl didn't do her GCSE's because of getting a bun in the oven.
I figure if I go to this one and its crap, I'll just get on the smash with the ones I keep in contact with anyway. Win / win really.
I've been away from the area my schools in for over 20 years with the military, only popping back to see friends and family occasionally (a few times a year), i heard of a plan for a reunion, but i think that didn't get past planning stage. if one was to be sorted now, i'd go as it would be a chance to have beers with the good mates i still hear from. It'll have to be soon though, as we are heading down under as soon as i hit my pension!! And then i wont be flying back just for a reunion!!! well maybe i would if i get a job on an airline
Never been invited to school reunions, i'd go if i got an invite to see who is still around, or alive?. many have died since i left school. Car crashes bike accidents, as for the girls would be intrested to see how they have change, seen one or two and they still look good.
Got an email from a lad I was at school with 38 years ago, told me how he'd become a linguist in the Navy, spoke 5 languages fluently inc Mandarin, then learnt to fly jets, got medals from two conflicts, phd in astrophysics or summat, lived in 4 different countries and was about to retire at 50 in Italy or somewhere. Finishes by saying " so what have you been up to Dunc? " Needless to say I didn't bother replying, now when the wife wants to take the ******* she just gives that withering look and says " so what have you been up to Dunc? "
Not nearly as bad as I feared. It was interesting to see how some of the guys have aged more than others. We ended up at a club after the reunion, not normally the sort if club that someone with a slight lean towards the left wing of political spectrum. They did have a wonderful selection of whiskies though & excellent cigars.
