I've just received an email from my High School Old Boys Society secretary to remind me that our 41st Anniversary Class Reunion is on in 10 days time.
I went to the 30th Reunion (1st & so far only one) but have had nowt to do with them since. I'm tempted to go just to see how old everyone looks compared to me (as I've kept my youthful good looks
I had little in common the last time but it maybe the last time I see some of the people who were part of my formative years.
    What would you do?

  2. Didnt particularly like school :( so perhaps slightly biased. Personally have few spare evening so given the choice of meeting up with current mates or people who I knew 35 years ago, I'd have to say my mates  . I would be slightly intrigued but probably not enough to go :D

  3. I'd go. Possibility of an upside and no real downside. Just an evening out.

    Tuesday wildchild I'm a circle!

Had nothing incommon with any of them when in school so don't think I would now and dislike such functions.

    Guess I'm say I wouldn't go.

  6. yeah but nah!
like Pickles, I hardly have enough time to catch up with good friends let alone those that weren't appealing enough to naturally maintain friendships with
weird sh1t - I had a dream about a school reunion last night..

  7. Not go. Never had such an invite anyway, so maybe they feel the same about me.

  8. i would go to it, might be a laugh and a good night out. especially if it is still local to where you live now.

if you have close friends today that went to the same school have a sweep stak ewith them to see who the biggest idiot will be 40 years later. there is always one who will make themselves out to be bigger and better than everyone else but probably still lives at home with parents.

Could be a good night out all the same.

  9. I don't think I'd bother. I went to one at my school in 1999 only time I've been. I've changed a lot since school days, and people in my class didn't recognise me. It was nice to have a chat and a 'class photo' of those who turned up (though no idea where the photos are now), but not much in common with them. I've found a few on Facebook and kept in touch that way, but I don't think Ill bother with any more reunions.

I went to one in February, my old school rugby team rather than whole year group - it was really good, plus I wasn't the only slap head there so that was a positive.

I'd only want to go to one just to see how fat the girls got and what my first crush looks like now.

  12. I've had plenty of invitations over the years as my old has a very active 'old girl' division but never wanted to go along. From the photos I've seen the events (and the people) look awful :D

I've got one in a few weeks. Really can't be arsed.

  14. Not interested in school reunions. I didn't have a problem with the academic side of things, but school was a lonely and depressing experience for me. The thought of reuniting with people who don't give a monkeys about me, and I don't give a monkeys about them, to remind me of the least pleasant period of my life? No thanks. Everyone I wanted to know, and who wanted to know me - well we kept in contact after school anyway. The rest can go take a running jump as far as I'm concerned.

  15. I'd go, but as I never went your school nobody would know me ;)

I've decided to go as I've managed to get a dirt cheap airfare to Melbourne.
It'll be interesting to see if I have anything in common with them these days. Somehow I doubt it, as I had little in common with most last time

  19. I've been to a couple of mine. I have little in common with my if those I went to school with, even my close mates of the time, but I still enjoyed them. Interesting to see how people turned out, amazed by some who hadn't seemed to age and intrigued by the OAPs who seemed to have gatecrashed the events!
