Saw this oil on ebay and wondered if it is too thick for winter use?

I am about to do a service and began looking up oils as you do and stumbled across this on a google search. Now I know it would be fine in the summer as I have used it in the past but as this service is nearer the winter and cold times ahead I wondered if maybe it want thin enough?

That said, it is a good price and I will probably buy some for the summer.

    Bargain

  3. It's fine. 20 grade when cold. Same as the Halfords stuff.

  6. Mr weeding did some work and serviced my van in April and changed it to 15w40. Something about type 4 engines and summer.

I was told its best for use in a old engine and 15w40 for good engines

The engine will run happily but you will spend ages pouring it in when it gets really cold. I use the Comma or the Halfords depending on whether I have been to Trago Mills recently..

    I love Trago at Liskeard.

  14. I normally stick to 15/40 dude... 20/50 is really meant for an engine that is suffering from high mileage low oil pressure!!

It can also cause oiling issues with the lifters
