  2. Double checked the fuel lines and clips today, the grommet job I done seems to be all good.
Also sorted the O/S rear side light issue.

Went for a nice long drive through the country lanes - loved it :D

    Next - paint.

  3. Keep at it fella.:)

  4. Cheers dude, gonna start preping this weekend, hopefully in paint next weekend.

Looks worse than it is to be fair

Long way to go with the prepping, trying to key the bus as best as possible with the right grades of paper, not rushing.
Probably a 1.5 weeks of prep then onto primer and paint :D

Still not chosen a colour though

  6. Looking good salad.

  7. Cheers dude, getting there slowly :D

  8. What grades are you using mate? Need to tackle my roof at some stage (and is that a household sander, does it do the job?)

  9. Hey dude, would be better to use an orbital sander but I found this house hold sander just fine for flat surface/roof.

    I am going 60, 120, 240, 320, 400, I think that's ok, it's what I have done before and it worked well.

  10. First coat of primer on one panel today, doing panel by panel this week, paint next week. Maybe.

Got the help of a painter who lives across the road, he has me DA'ing the panels and wiping them down with cleaner. He checks and primes/paints :D

I was originally going for Sea Blue/white roof...... but now, I'm not sure hahaa, I'm terrible with choosing a colour.

    We will see...............

  12. She is in primer :). Went camping, kayaking and fishing, had great fun, now back home to be fully stripped right down, checked over, rubbed down and painted.

  13. Oh.......and slammed :D

  14. So......thought I would update this as its been over 2yrs

Not done a lot at all really and not through not wanting too. Been a right roller coaster of a ride with health. Anyway.....

I have been stripping the loom out completely as I would like a new custom one fitted.

I also removed the windows, which was scary but enjoyable

    And that's it :(

Bus is now at its winter home. I really need to paint it first I am sure, before a new loom. So this could be a long wait until better weather.

I have jobs to do, like stripping off all the blacked out window film that was put on before I got the Bus. Also to strip back and varnish the original interior.
Also figure out what seats I want up front as well as buying, cutting foam for rear seats and the style of covers?? Oh...curtains and rails. And much more.......

    Blimey....never ends :eek::eek::eek::confused::confused:

  19. Nice work @salad.dodger2

Can I ask what the inside of your Devon pop top is covered with? And how is it held to the frame?

I have varnished ply screwed up there with self tappers but am looking to go lighter so thinking I might cover the ply with headlining material to match rest of bus but would ideally want a clean look with no screws. Cheers

  20. Cheers dude

It's like a lightly rough/pitted vinyl with what feels like a foam backing.

I bought it like you see it, I just cleaned it so I am not sure how it is held to the frame. From what I can remember its glued in place and I can only guess it over hangs by a little bit, then the rubber sill pushes over the edge all the way round. Does that make any sense ?? haha
