looks like a lwb shuttle? tailgate is favourable cheap at £6.800 if i've converted correct? @pkrboo bought similar is it a 1.9 or 2.5? how many miles? i reckon a cheap buy even at high miles myself.

  2. Terrible t5's . Sold mine & bought a t4 , last of the well made vans ;)

  3. Think that's a caravelle in the pic, strange though as it's only a single slider

  4. Saw a old ambulance at Weyfest converted to a camper with a Westy back tilt top, must have a massive stand up height.! Like the look of a 'teardrop' pull along and can be towed behind my old MG! Talking to a fellow festival couple who have a Winnibago, Cost £7.000 last year, massive space inside but only does 6mpg on petrol but with the gas conversion makes it much cheaper to run, weighs under 7.5 ton so us oldies can drive it on a normal licence!

  5. A friend in the Kentish club my son belongs to had a T25 and felt he wanted a Bay for a change, but it wasn't a good experience for him as it was unreliable and needed a lot of expensive work done and his family wanted to camp but the Bay was always having problems.

So, he decided to splash out and get a T5 camper and its been a great success and his family now want to go camping and his wife loves it. There you go.

horses for courses isn't it? my wife loves the t5 experience and it's made for much more happy camping, i'm sure she'd move up a gear if we went coachbuilt, i must admit i long for a bed that can stay down and an onboard bog.

We thought long and hard about T5s but then sat for ten days with a bad back and watched other people living more comfortably, so:

we saw an awesome coachbuilt t5 at skegvegas, see loads of t4's but hadn't seen a 5 - we did have an envious glance.

Paid the deposit. Just sorting out space to park at home. Keeping the T2.

  15. One of my neighbours bought a pretty expensive 'motorhome' a Peugeot Lingfield DTM which has every possible mod con but its a big white box on wheels and looks ugly and it needs a big space to park it. Hugely roomy inside and powerful diesel engine, but they get in it, start it up and off they go touring and camping in comfort.

I love my little Bay best.

Excellent. Have been looking enviously at the Swift Escape and similar. Advantage of the T5 type was versatile enough to be used as a daily, lets face it, I'd look a bit daft turning up for the school run in a motorhome :)

They are great though. Would love to potter around Europe in one.

Similar layout to that - front lounge, 2 berth, rear bathroom. Powered by Fiat though, about 60% of Motorhomes are.

that's the problem isn't it? basically as a retiree @bernjb56 can afford the luxury of having the use of a coachbuilt and running a daily, if i go coachbuilt i'll need a car again, at the moment that's pointless.
