Never had to before (( unless you count the time we were in that mud at dubfreeze) Not funny keep knocking her really. but why change the habit of your short VW life time?
See, we did tell you Custard was a great name eh Buddy Now Lou has gone with it too Malc, you knew we was right all along
I have never knocked it. just teased you about the colour. Even though I always knew the engine wasn't right and would need a rebuild at some point. Dear!
I like it too. PO told me he did 200 miles to Eastnor Castle on £46 worth and had quite a bit left in - I do hope that bits true? I was just looking at the figures in the owners book and it gives 31mpg on a non turbo 2.4d 'standard body type though' so with the big luton I was halving it?
Yes! Ill have a look after the lego movie is finished And the profile pic is sort of the same, now things are looking right again
On the back of @Buddy Hawks nagging, here is what I know about the LT50 Woodlander rv. She is a coach built Woodland conversion ( rhd British converted, not a lhd German converted, which the LT'S usually are ) which is extremely rare and hard to find any info on. registered new as a motorhome in 1984. She is based on a Lt50 Lassen transporter 5 ton gvw chassis. unladen weight of 2,5t She is powered by a 2.4 Volvo tdi engine which was something VW upgraded them to in 1983. She is untested re performance on motorways and economy, but I test drove her thoroughly after she had done a 60 mile journey and she pulls lovely, goes in a straight line and feesl like new. The interior is retro hand built wood and ply so has that old camper feel, she will sleep 5 comfortably, 2 in the luton, 1 in the forward table area and 2 in the rear bedroom/ dining area. She has a hot water tank. carver heater, oven, grill, fridge, shower and toilet. The cab area is close to new albeit with Fords seats. There has been a water leak at some point and the toilet wall exterior has suffered a bit from water damage. mainly varnish lifting so a weekend will have to be put aside to sort that. It has a full zig 12/24 volt system. and all the above work as they should. She is 2.2 metres wide, 5.6 metres long. 3.1 metres high. Top speed of 75 according to the book ( no way jose - can't afford the fuel even if it does it ) it is fully insulated and double glazed. I have the brochures for all the appliances and full service history. The previous owner had her serviced twice in the year he owned her including an engine flush ( to cure the noisy top end I presume, which he would have struggled with, as all diesel lt's I have driven sound like that ) and new tyres fitted - 6 as it's a twin wheel rear axle. Woodland campers are very difficult to find any info on, they made camper conversions out of Cheadle Staffs, but I am beginning to think that was probably an offshoot of a company that made horse boxes?. She has been sold twice in the last two years, the ppo owner bought her and used her as a guest room then sold it on ebay for a buy it now of £8000. The po got her road worthy doing all the things listed above and swapped her and a bug with me for Rhubarb my 72 Westfalia continental. Anyway for you VW pic porn freaks, here are a few more to bore or excite you... The roof has had some recent repairs after the leak, fortunately as a truck driver I know people who can make this look like new ( funds permitting) Note the humungous woof wack.. Top lights. mud skirt and tow bar. Not a good colour shower base, but eh oh 80's decor rules eh? More to come...
