  1. image.jpg image.jpg Finally started the first stage of restoring my 72 Kombi. Front stripped and the broken dash removed. Lots of dormant wasp and termite nests. Good job there's nothing in here made of wood! Hopefully it will be fully stripped and ready for paint by October.......

  4. St
Going to lower slightly and stay with the stock colour. When finished it should look something like this........

    ^ that'll look nice fella!

  6. I like stock and low even down to my little wheels and chrome caps its the only way

  7. So 2 months on and it's been a case of highs and lows but on the whole progress has been made :). Job done so far.......

    1. New front discs, pads, calipers,, hoses, bearings and shocks.
    2. New rear drums, pads, back plates, brake pipes, bearing and shocks.
    3. Removed spring plates, replaced donut bushes, painted spring plates and surrounding area.

I've also removed 40+ years of grime from beneath the wheel arches. I was surprised just how good the chassis is. That's what a warm climate does for steel!

Anyway, as you might have noticed the bus is up for sale. A change in circumstances mean that it's now looking for a new home. You can find more details under the classified forum. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

  8. Where did those drums come from? I've not seen them like that before... 2 piece riveted opposed to one piece cast!! :)

  9. Got them from VW Heritage a couple of months ago. Think they were Varga.

  10. 40+ years of dirt and grime removed from the front wheel arches. Clearly not seen much rain in its life! So that's suspension and brakes completely replaced on the offside. Just nearside to do then engine out image.jpg image.jpg
