Replacing condenser/points/plugs - do I need the engine code?

  1. Got an issue with my bus not starting, discussed a bit in another thread. Basically the starter motor fires up, but it doesn't catch. Want to change my points and condensor and think my plugs are buggered too. I was going to get some parts from MotorServ tomorrow, but don't really know which ones to get? I've got a 2.0l Type 4 Bosch Jetronic FI engine that has had a rebuild and I believe the head is from a Porshe engine as they had to get bigger valves than usual...
So...when I try to get parts just using my reg number, their computers just say a 2.0l engine and ask for an engine code. Where would I find this and does it matter that I have err...a big head? :D
Alternatively if any of you have the exact part numbers for condenser/points/plugs that would be AMAZING! My distributor is a Megabug vacuum advance one...I'm eventually thinking of swtiching to electronic ignition/123, but this is a quick fix as I'm desperate to get the van running for Download fest this weekend as weather looks GUFF.
    Thanks in advance
    Rob

  2. It'll be a CJ code... but the points and condensor are generic for your van... (same as a 1600 bay)

no issues with the heads being big valve... you just want a set of bosch w8cc spark plugs
