Rear arches and wheel tubs

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Andy_, Mar 28, 2013.

  1. Hi all,

I've fitted new wheel tubs and I'm about ready to fit the new rear arches (I'll update my resto thread over the weekend) but I just wondered what you use between the inner and outer arch.

When I chopped of the outer arch there was quite a thick foam strip and they were stuck pretty well!

    Cheers :)

foam strip is anti vibration and the lip on the wheeltub is spot (?) or seam (?) welded to the lip on the outer wheelarch panel (the outer skin) - Ive question marked spot and seam as there may be a particular weld, we seam welded them togethe

  3. I use seam sealer to replace the foam seal

  4. Ok thanks both. Will hopefully get around to doing this tomorrow :)

The foam strip should be replaced with a 12-14mm diameter bead of sealer at 'A'
