Did the previous owner not say anything about it? I'm surprised nothing showed up on previous MOTs.

 

..nope..bet he didnt now either..im surrprised too like said there only mentioned rusty brake pipes..btw i ve only checked some used suspention parts subframes on ebay and tbh some of dont look any better maybe even worse..and still want some money for it..hmmm its abit of mystery tbh..

That's surprising. Even my old Mk 4 Golf didn't look like that underneath, even after 10 years. Is the bodywork ok - no holes?

 

It was probably used in Cheshire where putting the grit on the road means a quarter inch of local rock salt.

Round here in Hampshire its just a light dressing of Waitrose Welsh Sea Salt usually washed away by the rain that eventually falls when snow is forecast.

 

That is bad ... dont mini have some sort of anti corrosion warranty?

 

..the body on the outside is almodt pristine!..lovely cond allround all original paint..it really looks well maintenend car...thats why im still shocked

..yeah..my '78 bus looked alot better even most of my bugs apart from rusty bodywork looked better mean suspension and all underbody related parts..

All you can do is get rid of the loose rust , treat it and wax oil the F u Ck out of it

 

Not like that! Mines an '06 plate but apart from some very minor spots of surface corrosion that you would expect on a 11 year old car it's as clean as a whistle

 

It's nowt that a bit of time and tractor enamel won't sort
