It looks a lot better with none at all, but that's more tricky to get away with.
I think they compliment the light coloured bumper. :)

And the rear looks better than a black one on the dark colour and is deliberately wonky as I know that annoys some people.

    Tuesday wildchild I'm a circle!

Its a personal choice but even then they can look wrong on some vans all comes down to how you view things.

Mot bloke might notice so keep a set of legal ones just in case.

  5. I think im going to go with some of the Tippers 70's pressed aluminium reflective yellow and white plates with raised letters.
nearly £60 with postage!! hopefully be worth the money when its all together. :D

I'll be fitting Black/silver plates to mine as its a late 72, but registered in 73, so allowed, but I know they'll be a few people who pipe up with, "Mneeeerr shouldnt be on them plates for a 73" which will be met with a gormless blank stare, and me ignoring them :D

Its not legal, but you're unlikely to be pulled up for it, unless you are doing something else really stupid.

I've not been pulled with no front plate, let alone the wrong plate.

poptop2 and wilma have black and silver on M reg vans but both made in 72 not reg'd until 74 wonder if thats the latest on here "legally" on silvers? think about it - the feds/mot man would think it was 74 and officially wrong - i'd love to have the option to prove the feds wrong by showing the v5 when/if they moaned.

The Feds are useless, I'd guess 95% of them don't know the rules.

  14. Had my black n silver plates on for a while now .No issues.Even had some traffic cops checking it out at Chester services .Not a peep from them!!![IMG]

  15. Are imports subject to the same laws? I would assume that yes they are. but I don't suppose there's any chance I can have US style plates or anything?
