Lovely stuff that! The baja chassis will be getting the raptor treatment over winter I hope.

  2. Looks great, what paint do you have under the Raptor? Is it directly on top of the red bonda primer or is there another coat of something?

  3. Straight on to the Bonda or grey primer in the case of the Wolfsburg West panels. Or the original paint elsewhere. Just keyed it all up first.

  5. Just looked at this quickly but as a complete layman, it looks amazing!

  6. Yes, I think I remember seeing that before. The issue here though I think is that the tintable Raptor is a sort milky opaque colour, so automatically lightens the tint slightly.

  7. Few more pics. I painted all the running gear before bolting it back on. I tried to keep as much original stuff as possible rather than go down the ‘nut and bolt resto’ route. Obviously the brake lines and pipes needed doing, and I binned the shoes anyway even though they had loads of material left as they’re almost certainly asbestos. Fitted a dual circuit master cylinder which is just a bay master cylinder for a servo with a spacer fitted. It does mean you have to modify the belly pan, but worth it for the extra safety I think. The pipes are made in kunifer. Apart from the brakes, the only thing needed at the front end was one wheel bearing and the anti-rollbar clamps. I kept the rubber bits as part of my policy of avoiding any new Marmitee rubber parts if old stuff is still serviceable, so they’re a bit perished but they’ll outlast a few pairs of new ones;) The drums were fine but needed a skim.

    The project looks incredible.... Truely.

It’s on the data sheet (https://www.u-pol.com/files/6535/rltrsm-TDS-EN-UK).
5% 2K paint does the job.

  12. As James said^, but I used 10% paint to tint. I should probably mention that it’s a 2k product, so be careful. They say you can apply it with an activated carbon type mask as it doesn’t atomise as much as normal paint, but i’d do it outside if poss

  13. You can buy it pre- tinted to any colour you want
