When I was made redundant I tried to claim on a mortgage payment protection plan I’d been paying £100+ a month for years into. They said I had to register as unemployed and claim JSA to qualify. I had a redundancy payment so I didn’t qualify for JSA. What’s the friggin point in the policy! I started to look into a PPI claim and cancelled the policy. Few months later and my redundancy fund had dropped to where I could claim JSA. Then the mortgage payment coughed up £1650 per month. They couldn’t be more helpful by then! What bemuses me is if they can look you up and see if your entitled , then why don’t the people who have got your money contact you and send you it , it’s all a bit ....................................... don’t ask ,,,,we keep ,,,,if you ask me . What is going to be done with all this unclaimed money they know they owe people ??

I got a broken leg about 15 years ago - I do not recall asking for it. I also got a broken nose when I was 18 - in hindsight I probably was asking for it......
