Haha they are so beautiful! I know its alot of money but if you do it properly its like buying a house and restoring it, it cant really drop in value .... unless you do a really bad job
They can drop in value and classic cars often do, it’s absolutely not a guarantee you will get your money back never mind turn a profit, budget £60-90k for the resto. I know a guy who used to restore cars used to make £50k every time, the market dropped, he had a half done car with £50k invested, he couldn’t get £5k, it sat in his workshop for years and years
All about keeping an eye on the market aswell i wouldnt put 5k into a car that was only worth 3k, as i say it would be a long term thing, they rise and fall but will usually hold their money in the long term
Join the 356 lot on face book. Lots of info might be a bit biased You could just buy this kit from the guys that run it http://www.speedsterclinic.com/body/ Might be cheaper I’d love the hard top 356 the do.
No Nick , this was taken at the London Classic. Car show , Alexandra Palace , 3 years ago Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Went to a classic car show about 25 years ago & a guy had a real nice one..he had spent £150k on the resto. 25 years ago! Gulp.
I’m still waiting for Betty to by me my Porsche ,could be a long wait , she doesn’t do hints . Cousins selling his 928 not quite the same thou huh
912 prices have gone skyward massively tho as well over the last few years ... it’s the availability and cost of parts that is the killer ... I think because the massive rise in 911 prices it’s dragging all the Porsche marks up with it .. I’d say its cheaper to drop 100k+ on a 356 than it would be to proper restore one .
Couldnt give a 928 away 7-10 years ago now they're commanding 15k -25k for a decent example silly money really but only way that market is going is down!
One of the cars I always wanted. A mates bought one and gave it to a 'porsche specialist' to restore. He just goes a pale colour when I ask him how it's going
