I haven't tested it but when I bought it the chap said it worked... I was bought another So one has to go.... I'm confidant it will work.

These are wired different to modern ones and the original wiring is all attached difficult to test.. Sorry

 

aha, i just remembered that i had mine converted.

 

This one is as it was when it was first installed.. Still has the red wiring box that went on the wall attached

 

Technically that phone belongs to BT, one never owned ones phone in the olden days, one rented it.
I've got same style wall mounted version in cream. Really funny when one of the kids teenage mates tried to use it to call someone - he was pressing his fingers into the hole for each number, he didn't know you had to whizz it round. lol

 

We used to have one of those on a closed network when I was little, as we never had a proper phone... People would ring my grandparents, and if it was for us, then they'd buzz through on the closed network phone to our house.... Had a door bell button as a call through ringer!!!

Was pretty cool really
