  5. Your hat ain't on all the way man ;)

P.s that engine lid looks *****ing awesome

  6. hahaha its my enormous noggin that makes it sit like that.... ;)
ta.....more work than I care to calculate, and something most people probably won't even notice lol
if I ever did another one, I think I'd just cut the centre out of an early lid and graft it in.....would've been a lot faster to do lol

  7. top work fella!

  8. Really impressive... Every credit due!!

It's going to be a grand day when the housing association see it all blinged up outside your place again :)

  9. cheers :) the shutlines around the lid need a little fine tuning, but its not bad....everything lines up and flows pretty well and because I reshaped the rear chassis uprights the lights are where they would be on an early....not sitting wide like every other late I've seen with early lights :)....just need to figure out the electrics for the lighting now and decide what I'm doing with the number plate light....stock or custom? Lol

  10. Are you in east 17 ?

  11. After all this custom gets my shout.. Worked in a body shop for a couple of years and you do know your way around a filler tube that's for sure!

Cracking work, you've documented the build really good.. Great effort! Great courage! Great results!

  12. lol you haven't seen it before shaping! Never really done a lot with filler until this, but I've got a good eye for a line and I can usually see the shape I need before I start with the blade :)

  13. yep....coming to a butlins near you soon :p

  14. Well keep posting the after shots and your glory will never fade :-D honestly cracking quality stuff!

  15. appreciated :)
you might know this... blocked it to shape with P60 grit...whats best grade to use to take the scuff marks out for high build?

  16. Gotta say I'm impressed with the dedication and skills you've shown in doing this. I wish I could do stuff like this. Well done - hope you get to finish soon. ;)

  17. who's to say you couldn't? I've got no previous bodywork experience to speak of....just a rough plan and a have a go attitude :)

  18. Looking great. Are you going to paint it too?

  19. It was finished at 220 pre primer, 400 post primer for removing any runs, 600 for final rub before paint.

If it was a clean and buff it was 1000 to remove dirt and 1200 pre buff with rubbing compounds around G10 rating

It's been almost 20yrs tho so others may know better products reading this...but the above worked
