  1. No chassis on these dude
Its monocoque with a subframe up front

You can raise the engine by 15mm by fitting spacers under the engine mounts which takes the sump above the anti roll bar
So if i do go as low as the coilovers will take me which is a 100mm drop then ill raise the engine
Im also thinking of bonding a thick alloy plate to the sump as a sacrificial part instead of my sump

In all honestly though with the roads round here i dont think ill go passed a 50mm drop as im only on 15 inch rims

  6. I have an estate version 1.8 sport, and had to put a sump on it before christmas as i hit a lump of concrete in the middle of the road, broke the anti roll bar mount as well, standard height but just unlucky

  7. That is unlucky dude:(

  8. Those alloy sumps are a proper pain for getting broken, but they must have a decent cooling gain for using them!! :)

  16. I agree it would look better with bigger alloys
Its passed the mot retest today so once ive taxed and insured it
Funds and time will be diverted back to the paravan
I will be replacing the rotten front wing though
Im waiting for a white one to come up for sale so it saves me having to get the wing painted

  17. Woops a daisy
Ive bought a set of skoda superb 17 inch alloys with tyres in need of refurb

  18. That looks good - amazingly.

Apart from the 17" alloys, you need a big sub woofer and some dark window tints now.

  19. It handles a whole lot better now aswell
The old rear dampers were shagged when i removed them one had a hole in it had corroded that much
The other had blown the seal and lost all its oil
The only reason it wasent picked up on the mot was because the dust covers hid it and all the oil had long gone
The back has always felt wrong unless i had loads of weight in the back and now i know why

I landed on the wheels by luck after a bit of reading around about different offsets and pcds of different vag vehicles
The wheels were free in a way as it was the tyres that were being sold and the wheels came with the tyres
The pic i posted up is the best one the other three are awfull but its only cosmetic
Ive enough left over consumables and paint from other jobs to refurb these wheels

No tinted windows or subs though sorry to dissapoint;)

  20. The @72wilma nick named it the slug at the weekend
I think julie took some pics on her phone

The suspension settled that much on the way to dent by the time id got to the campsite i had less than an inch to the floor from the lowest part of the car
I only bottomed out once on the way home though
I better get these 17s refurbed so it gains a bit of height
